The HOWPL was founded in 2016 to raise awareness and increase participation in the sport of Water Polo. Created in partnership with the HWDSB, the City of Hamilton Recreation and Water Polo Canada, the HOWPL strives to give children confidence in the water while learning a new sport in the luxury of an outdoor pool. 2016 was our inaugural season and it was beyond successful. Between hosting the first ever CARR CUP in July and running this outdoor league, our organization interacted with over 120 athletes this past summer.
FUN, FOCUS and FUNDAMENTALS are what our organization is all about. We are again expecting growth in 2018 and hope to continue to grow the sport of Water Polo.
