HAWPC is proud to announce that it will be adopting FINA’S internationally recognized and sanctioned
SWIM PLAY BALL program as its introductory Water Polo recreational program.
Swim Play Ball will be offered in the Fall for a 10 Week session and in the Winter for a 10 Week Session.
Similar to our former Junior league the focus is on fun while building physical literacy in the water through playing water Polo.
Each session consists of 10 weeks. Athletes participate in 1 x 1.5 hour practice per week and 1x 1 hour game session per week.
Swim Play Ball differs from Junior league in that athletes are classified into 3 groups based on ability in the water. Athletes will train in these groups of similar skilled athletes and will participate in game day within the same group that they train with week to week.
SWIM PLAY BALL
As athletes participate in the program our accredited coaches are continually engaging encouraging and evaluating the athletes. As the athlete progresses through SWIM PLAY BALL they earn colour based Water Polo Badges. Once the athlete completes and obtains their Blue, Orange, and Green badges they are able to try for their Black (skill based) and Gold (swim based) badge. Once the athlete has completed the program not only will they be an amazing swimmer but if they desire they will be able to join our competitive program.
